Kuressaare becomes ever more popular both among visitors from abroad and Estonians too.

The growing number of spas has returned the town's former reputation to a resort town. It is pleasant to walk and bike in Kuressaare as the town has become especially beautiful in recent years, especially the beach promenade whitch is great for romantic walks.

In the summer there are open-air cultural events nearly every day, plays in the Kuressaare town theatre and concerts in local culture centre-all ideal after relaxing in the spas.

Those interested in sports can enjoy the modern sports hall that was recently finished and in summer 2008 a new golf course opens.

Kuressaare International Airport serves flights to and from Tallinn, Gotland, Stockholm, Riga and Helsinki. More details in our Getting Here section.
